From shared childhoods to Wall Street's heights, their paths mirrored each other. Summers in the Hamptons meant rubbing elbows with the financial elite, but their true passion was wine. A Napa Valley wedding ignited a new obsession: Oakville Cabernet. The depth, the complexity, it resonated like no other wine had. They recognized potential, a chance to rival the world's finest. They discovered Dylan Pecchenino in a small tasting room, a young winemaker with palpable passion and nascent brilliance. They saw in him their own drive for excellence. Over shared bottles, a vision formed: a brand reflecting their understated elegance, a testament to terroir, craftsmanship, and perfection. And so, Hampton Royce was born, a culmination of their journey from the streets to the heights of finance and fine wine.
WINEMAKER ~ Dylan Pecchenino
Dylan Pecchenino's journey into winemaking began with a deep fascination for the intricate relationship between terroir, viticulture, and the alchemy of transforming grapes into wine. Growing up amidst the vineyards of Sonoma County instilled in him a profound respect for the land and the artistry involved in crafting exceptional wines. He pursued his passion with vigor, earning a degree in Viticulture and Enology from California Polytechnic State University, in San Luis Obispo, where he honed his understanding of both the scientific and artistic aspects of winemaking. Experiences working harvests in renowned cellars across California further solidified his commitment to producing wines of character and distinction, showcasing a dedication to both traditional techniques and innovative approaches.
Now at the helm of his label, Dylan is focused on crafting small-lot, terroir-driven wines that express the unique character of select vineyards. He believes in minimal intervention winemaking, allowing the fruit to speak for itself, and prioritizes sustainable practices in both the vineyard and the cellar. His wines reflect a deep understanding of grape varietals and a keen sense of place, showcasing balance, elegance, and a true expression of the vintage. Dylan's passion for winemaking is evident in every bottle, from the meticulous vineyard selection to the careful aging process, resulting in wines that are both approachable and age-worthy.
